Things to Do Near the Lodge
Mount Scott Overlook
Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge
Drive or hike to the summit of Mount Scott for a 360-degree view across the refuge. At 2,464 feet it's the highest point in the Wichitas, and the road to the top is paved, worth it at sunrise or just before dark.

40' Foot Hole
Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge
A natural swimming hole fed by Quanah Parker Lake. The water is cold and clear, and the granite boulders around it make for good scrambling. Popular on summer weekends, so go early.

Escape The Park
Medicine Park
An outdoor escape room set in the cobblestone streets of Medicine Park. Good for groups and families: puzzles run about an hour and no prior experience is needed.

Elmer Thomas Lake Boating
Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge
Rent a paddleboat or bring your own kayak to Elmer Thomas Lake inside the refuge. The water is calm, the shoreline is quiet, and bison sometimes graze the banks in the early morning.
